Selene B. Varnel, formerly known to all as Agnieska Sioud, was born in Poland where her life as an artist was nurtured. She attended Fine Arts School there and eventually earned a Master's in Landscape Architecture and Engineering. She has had several exhibitions throughout Poland and her work has been featured in various publications.
Selene has been living and creating in New York since 2006. She is a member of National Sculpture Society and The Art Student League of New York. Selene's unique style is inspired by her love of the natural world and her background in landscape design. These elements give her creations a unique organic quality.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
Art is an endless story of natural inspiration and its movement through form. I want my sculptures to evoke sensorial awakening and be a catalyst to stimulate creativity in places where perhaps it is non-existent. My ambition is for my work to fill my audience's hearts and minds with feelings of inspiration and empowerment. Working with three-dimensional forms gives me the power to observe the Image not only as it stands, but from an all-encompassing point of view. This "canvas" gives perspective in as many views, angles, depths that we choose to explore. Some people call it a sculpture, but I call it an infinite view into our consciousness.
